The return of one of our best loved experimental range wines since it was last available in 2018, our 2023 “Little Wonder” is a wine that we really enjoy making. In a homage to the wines of Loire, Cabernet noir (now known as Cabaret Noir) is a varietal with a dominate parentage of Cabernet Sauvignon lending itself to characters of raspberries, strawberries, red and black currants alongside savoury notes of leather and tobacco.
Unlike most full-bodied wines of the same style, this one has refined tannins and is medium body allowing for a more approachable wine.
The grapes come from the Hidden Spring Vineyard in Horam, East Sussex, planted originally in 1986, and since been added to with newer plantings, this vineyard is situated on clay soils. 25% whole bunch fermentation, aged in Burgundy barrels for 24 months. It is unfined and unfiltered.
