Essex-born and Battersea-bred, this Pinot Noir comes from Clayhill Vineyard on the coastal peninsula of the Crouch Valley, set between the rivers Crouch and Blackwater. With its south-facing exposure and clay-rich soils, the vineyard consistently delivers depth and purity.
The 2023 English vintage offered a steady, measured growing season. A warm early summer followed by cooler spells and a long ripening window produced Pinot Noir of finesse and concentration. The wine shows bright, ripe red fruits layered with supple tannins and a gentle black-pepper spice, capturing the freshness and precision of the year.
Fermented naturally in small open-top fermenters and aged in Burgundy oak barrels.
Unfined and unfiltered. May contain sediment.
